Velez Sarsfield and Clube Atletico Bragantino meet at the Estadio José Amalfitani for this group stage match in the Copa Libertadores. The Argentinian home side will be looking for their first win in the competition after losing their first match 4-1 to Estudiantes. Given the short format of the group a second loss will make it very difficult tо progress to the next round. Velez Sarsfield have been very poor in their domestic league as well and currently sit in 9th position with just two wins this season from nine matches. Their problems in the league stem from their inability to score goals as they have only found the net six times in their nine matches. This will be their first ever meeting with Bragantino and will be hoping that it is a winning one.

Bragantino had a great start to their Copa Libertadores campaign as they easily beat Uruguayan side Nacional 2-0. They drew 2-2 away from home in their last match against Juventude in the Brazilian Serie A. Bragantino have only played one match in the league as the league started late as compared to the Argentinean league. They did however come through a difficult competition to gain entry into this competition so they are battle hardened for this match. Bragantino have been in good recent form and have only lost once in their previous five matches. They will be in a great position to qualify from the group if they can get an away win.
