Vancouver Whitecaps play host to Canadian rivals Toronto FC at BC Place Stadium in Major League Soccer action this weekend. The Whitecaps are bottom of the Western Conference with only six points from eight matches. Toronto are second in the Eastern Conference, two points behind Columbus Crew and three ahead of third-placed Orlando City. The points won in this game will count towards MLS regular-season standings as well as the race to enter the 2020 Canadian Championship final. The three Canadian sides in MLS (Montreal being the other club) will play each other a number of times to determine who gets the right to meet the winner of the Canadian Premier League’s Island Games. Victory in that final will earn qualification for the 2021 CONCACAF Champions League. Toronto come into this game off the back of a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to the aforementioned Montreal earlier in the week. Away from home, they've been better and two of their three unbeaten matches were actually victories over Montreal. 

Vancouver have endured a miserable campaign thus far, losing six of their eight regular-season matches. Their last four matches have finished in defeat and two of those were at the hands of Toronto. Vancouver have a bad record against Toronto in general, failing to win 17 of their 22 matches. At home, their record is slightly better with only three defeats in ten matches against Toronto. However, they have failed to win their last four competitive matches at home, a run that stretches back to last season. Both teams have scored in eight of the last ten matches that Vancouver have been the home team, so we could be in for a thrill-ride. Either way, we see the away side winning. Back Toronto to win in a match that features both teams scoring.
