Two teams that are enjoying stellar seasons in their respective leagues meet in the 3rd round of the Copa del Rey. Valladolid is the hosts as they welcome Betis to the Estadio José Zorrilla. The home team is looking to return to La Liga in the first season after being relegated and are well placed in the Segunda league currently occupying third spot with 40 points. They are just two points behind the second placed team who are in the automatic promotional spot. Betis are also in third place in La Liga with 33 points. Valladolid are in great form at home and have won their last seven matches and are unbeaten in their last ten home games. Valladolid will be facing their first La Liga team in the tournament having won against a third tier team in the first round and then beat fellow Segunda league team Las Palmas in the last round.
Betis currently occupy one of the Champions League spots in La Liga and have enjoyed one of their best seasons in recent years but have run into two losses in their last two matches. They will be hoping to bounce back against Valladolid. Their league form has seen them move to within five points of second placed Sevilla although they have played an extra game.
