Failure to beat Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday means it'd take a massive swing in goal difference and a Tottenham home defeat for Arsenal to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League this season. The past few weeks have seen their form slump with just a single point from four league games with two of the teams in the bottom-half of the table. Their only recent wins have been in the Europa League  with an away win at Napoli followed by a 3-1 home win in the first leg of this semi-final. They had to come from behind to win last Thursday but arrive in Spain with a two-goal advantage but having seen Valencia score an away goal. Arsenal have lost five of their last eight away games including Europa League defeats at BATE and Rennes. An away goal will be a key target for the Gunners if they want to go ahead and qualify for the Champions League by winning this competition.

Valencia are also battling to qualify for the Champions League via their league position in La Liga. They are fifth in the table with two games to go but three points behind Getafe with two games to play. Sunday saw Valencia win 6-2  at Huesca after leading 5-0 at half-time. With Getafe away to Barcelona in their next fixture, Valenica could yet finish in th top four. If not, then just like their opponents in this game, they will have to win this competition to get into the Champions League. They started this season in the Champions League but could only finish third behind Juventus and Manchester United. Home form was good though with wins over United and Young Boys. That form has been maintained in the Europa League with three wins in a row. 11 home games have been played in the Europa League since their last home loss and Valencia have lost just one of their last 21 home games in all competitions.
