USA start this game in fourth place and that would only be good enough to take them into a play-off against either Syria or Australia. Winning their final two games should get them automatic qualification but there's even the danger they could be eliminated with two bad results. They are currently a point behind third placed Panama so a win here will put them in the box seat with a final game away to bottom of the table Trinidad and Tobago. Lurking in the background are fifth placed Honduras who are only below the USA on goal difference and are away to Costa Rica. It's been a tough struggle for the Americans who have only won two of their eight qualifiers so far, drawing three and losing three. They have lost at home to both of the top two sides in the group namely Mexico and Costa Rica and only have two points from their last three qualifiers. Before the two most recent poor results they had been on a 14 game unbeaten run and need to replicate that form. Panama are in the final automatic qualification place but have drawn four of their eight qualifiers. Goals are a problem with only seven goals in eight games and a total of 12 scored in those matches. Four away games have seen just three goals scored with only one scored by Panama. Away from home they have four points from four games so goals have been at a premium.  A bet on USA to get a vital win and under 2.5 goals in the game looks the one to be on.
