Union Saint-Gilloise vs Slavia Prague Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League

Union Saint-Gilloise are on the verge of elimination heading into the second leg of their Champions League third-round tie with Slavia Prague on Tuesday evening. The winner of the match will move on to face either LOSC Lille or Fenerbahce in the playoff round. Here's our match prediction.

Union SG need to find two unanswered goals if they are to remain in the competition after suffering a 3-1 defeat at Fortuna Arena last week. 

They were on the back foot from virtually the first whistle and were behind inside the first 20 minutes. The situation became worse after Tomas Chory bagged a brace before the interval.

Things continued on a downward spiral in the second half as Oscar Dorley netted the hosts' third of the evening, but an own-goal by Alexandr Buzek has given Les Unionistes a sliver of hope heading into this second leg. 

Meanwhile, barring the own goal, Slavia Prague barely put a foot wrong in the first leg and are unsurprisingly heavily fancied to qualify, albeit that they are the outsiders according to the match result odds. 

Still, with two goals to defend, and unbeaten in their last 17 matches in all competitions, the visitors will be feeling very good about their chances of progressing. 

Last week’s goal is the only one that the Red and Whites have conceded in their last five games in all competitions, while they have also kept four clean sheets in their previous five away matches.
