Union Saint Gilloise face a tough test against one of the stronger teams left in the Europa Conference League in the shape of German side Eintracht Frankfurt, The Belgians won't be a pushover however as they finished third in the group with Liverpool, recording a win at home against the Reds in the group stage, and they also beat Toulouse in order to secure third place in the group. They will face Frankfurt for the first time in their history and somewhat surprisingly, the Belgian side have a better record away from home against German teams. At home they have won one and lost two games, but on the road, they have won one and drawn two. They are currently 8 points clear at the top of the Belgian Pro League and are on a long unbeaten run at home that stretches back to September 2023 (a 2-0 loss to Genk). 

Eintracht Frankfurt currently occupy sixth spot in the Bundesliga and they have lost just one of their last five games in that competition. The german side secured early progress into the next phase of the Europa Conference League in their group but took their foot off the pedal too soon, losing their last two games against PAOK and Aberdeen dropping down to second spot in their group, thus meaning they faced a playoff tie, rather than a seeded spot in the last 16.
