Lecce are 18th in Serie A and close to relegation. Defeat in this game away at 13th placed Udinese will send them back to Serie B. They had a nightmare start to Sunday’s game at Bologna. Lecce were 2-0 down after just five minutes but fought back to level at 2-2. However, their hearts were broken when Bologna got a 93rd minute winner. That left Lecce four points from safety with just two league games remaining. Defensive skill, or rather their lack of them have put them in danger of an immediate return to Serie B. The third goal conceded on Sunday was the 80th that has been scored against them in Serie A this season. They have only kept three league clean sheets and conceded at least twice in nine of their last 12 fixtures. Three of their last four league games have been lost as relegation creeps ever closer. Away form has only produced four league victories with just one point earned from the last six. 17 goals have been conceded in those games, though Lecce have managed five of their own in the last four. Three of the last four on the road have seen both teams score with eight out of nine having over 2.5 goals scored.

Udinese are making a strong finish to the league season. They won 1-0 at Cagliari on Sunday, their second league win in a row. That's the first time they have managed that feat since January. The win took them ten points clear of the relegation zone. If they could win this match and then get three points from their final game at Sassuolo, a top ten finish could yet be achieved.  Home form had been a problem with a run of seven league games without a win (four of which were drawn). Then they shocked Juventus with a 2-1 win thanks to a 90th minute winner. Udinese have won six, drawn six and lost six at home but only one of the last four has been lost. Both teams have scored in four of the last five on home soil. They are ending the season well and can get a home win here.
