After an opening away win in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, Turkey will be back at home on Match Day 2 of Group D to host Croatia in a very important game in this group. The hosts go into this game leading the group on three points while Croatia have one, in third place. Turkey beat Armenia 2-1 away from home for their third straight win but they are still struggling defensively. The home team has failed to keep a clean sheet in the last five matches, but this has been compensated for with a good scoring run. They’ve netted two or more goals in four of their last five matches while each of their last five matches has had over 2.5 goals. Turkey have lost just one in their last nine matches. They are unbeaten in two matches against Croatia, both at home – the most recent ended 3-3 and earlier they had claimed a 1-0 win.

Despite all the talent at their disposal, Croatia seem to be struggling. They will hope for a cleaner game here, but taking on Turkey away from home rarely comes with guarantees, as seen in their last two away matches against Turkey. Both teams have scored in four of Croatia’s last five matches, and they have failed to score in one. Without a clean sheet in five matches, Croatia will have the defence as the weak link to address.
