Turkey will host Serbia on Match Day 4 of their Group 3 League B clash in the UEFA Nations League on Wednesday. The two sides occupy the bottom slots in the group, Turkey in third place on two points and Serbia bottom with one point after three matches. Turkey were impressive away in Russia on Match Day 3, coming from a goal down but lacked the extra push to see them floor the group leaders in Moscow as Kenan Karaman’s goal could only earn them a 1-1 draw. It was their fourth straight winless match but they are unbeaten in three straight games. In three of their last six matches, Turkey have failed to score, however, they have a consistent scoring record, having found the back of the net in seven of their last 10 matches. After playing the last three matches away from home, they will be glad to be back at home for this game, and hoping to recover from two straight winless outings at home in which they have also failed to score. Their last home match ended in defeat, as they fell 1-0 to Hungary, but that is their only home loss in the last nine matches and having won six of the nine, they will be hoping to extend that fine run. In seven of their last nine home matches, Turkey have kept seven clean sheets. Their journey in the Nations League has however not been good and they will hope a fine run starts here, as they are on just one win in seven Nations League matches. The last five Nations league matches have produced no win for Turkey, while the entire seven matches have yielded just one clean sheet – a 0-0 draw with Serbia away from home in the first meeting.

Serbia on the other hand, failed to build on their win over Norway in the European Championship qualification playoff, falling 1-0 at home Hungary. They had the chance to rise from bottom of the group as they went to the game but in the end, it was Hungary who moved closer to the top. Serbia can’t afford any more slip ups now in the quest for promotion. They have managed just one win in their last five matches, and that came in extra time, while they have managed just one clean sheet in their last seven matches. Serbia got promoted from League C after a fine run in the inaugural Nations League campaign but are finding it tough to cope here, winless in their opening three matches in League B. Playing away from home seems to favor the Serbs though; they have three wins in their last four away matches and have scored in eight of their last 10 away matches. However, they have no clean sheet in their last seven away matches.
