Bologna’s push for Champions League qualification will have to go through the tough defensive unit of Torino as the sides meet in Serie A. The matchday 35 of the campaign at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in Turin on Friday will see the hosts tenth with 46 points, while the visitors are fourth with 63 points. Torino start this round four points behind eighth-placed Napoli, which is enough for qualification for the Conference League next season. The hosts haven’t done themselves any favours, though, with some below-par results in recent weeks. Torino are winless across four league games, drawing and losing two games each. Even going further back, a run of two wins, four draws, and four losses over the last ten league matches doesn’t do justice to their campaign. Bologna are assured a top-eight finish, but it is the top-four spot that they are eyeing. They start this round four points ahead of fifth-placed Roma, and they can provisionally increase that gap with a win here. That said, nine wins and three draws from their last 13 Serie A matches with only one defeat suggest the visitors are not going to be easy to beat. Even on the road, Bologna have avoided defeat in their last six away league games, winning four and drawing two.
