Tunisia vs Mali Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON
by Daniel Ngulu | in AFCON Predictions
Despite their huge profile, Mali have never won the AFCON title, and as they start the journey at the 2021 AFCON, against one-time winner Tunisia, their eyes will be fixed on the ultimate prize. Tunisia go into this Group F game looking to do better than they did in the recently concluded Arab Cup, where they finished second to Algeria. They suffered a 2-0 loss to Algeria in the final of the inaugural Arab Cup, a result that also marked the second time in five matches that they’d failed to score. Their recent matches haven’t been high scoring either, with just one of the last five producing over 2.5 goals. They’ve scored more than a goal in just one of their last five matches, a 2-1 win over Oman and in all three wins that they’ve managed in the last five matches, it has been by one-goal margins.
Mali had a last minute cancellation of their warm up game against Malawi and will thus head to this competition without having played a friendly game. Still, they are a strong side on the basis of their performance in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. They won five of their six games there and kept clean sheets in all six. Three times in their last 10 matches, they’ve scored two or more goals and only three have produced over 2.5 goals. Mali have failed to score in three of their last 10 matches while only one of their last five away games has produced over 2.5 goals. Their last two meetings with Tunisia have also been low scoring, both ending in under 2.5 goals.

Our Tunisia vs Mali Prediction
These two will be the top teams to watch in Group F. As they face off, we expect some caution as they try to avoid dropping points against fellow top spot challengers. The two nations haven’t scored a lot in many of their recent matches and with the cautious approach here, under 2.5 goals will be a good pick.
