USA have had a hard time in this group but can clinch their place in Russia with a win in this game. They have 12 points with one game to go and lead Panama and Honduras by two points. The American side beat Panama 4-0 to end a run of three group games without a win. A win against the group's bottom side will see them qualify but if they draw then they should still be ok as long as either of their two rivals don't win by a massive score. Defeat though would leave them hoping neither of their rivals get a win. USA have had poor away form in this group with three 1-1 draws and a 4-0 loss to Costa Rica. Their opponents are in terrible form though with just three points so far in this group and have lost their last seven games including a 2-0 away defeat to the Americans. Head to head, USA are unbeaten in their last five games against their opponents without conceding a goal. It's been a rough ride but USA can clinch qualification but there's a lot of work to do if they want to be a force in Russia.
