Toulouse vs Lyon Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

Toulouse sits eight points above the relegation zone ahead of their home match against Olympique Lyon in the 31st round of matches in Ligue 1. The two face off nine points apart, Lyon in seventh position and Toulouse 12th. A 2-1 win away to Montpellier propelled Toulouse closer to safety and they will be looking to build on it when they welcome Lyon. The win was their second in a row after earlier seeing off Annecy in the French Cup to reach the final and keep hopes of playing in European competition next season alive.  They will want to improve on a league run that has just two wins in seven. The hosts have managed just one clean sheet in the last 10 league matches. This calls for a better focus on the defence and having conceded two or more goals in five of the 10 games gives more reason why Philippe Montanier needs to pay more attention to the defence. It will however be more comforting that Toulouse have only failed to score in three of their last 10 league games. Still, three straight home defeats leave little to celebrate just yet.

Lyon recovered from their French Cup elimination by Nantes with a 3-1 win at home to Rennes, a result that keeps their  European ambiitions intact..  There's a five point gap to make up on Lille in fifth who currently occupy the Europa Conference League qualifying position. An impressive turnaround in the final 30 minutes saw Lyon rise from a goal down to collect three points and Laurent Blanc will be hoping to see more of that fighting spirit. Their Ligue 1 run has been inconsistent but not with many losses in recent times. Lyon are actually on two straight wins in the league and haven't lost any of the last six. Their only loss in the last 11 Ligue 1 matches was a shock one, against Auxerre. Playing away from home in the league, they are unbeaten in the last three matches and two of those are wins. It further boosts their chances going into this game, that in the last 13 meetings with Toulouse, Lyon haven't lost.
