Toulouse and lens will both be gunning for a return to winning ways when they face off in Ligue 1 on Sunday. Hosts Toulouse come into this game three points above the automatic relegation zone while Lens are three points below the Conference League spot. Toulouse will have to put up a better showing than in their 3-3 draw with Rouen in the French Cup. That game ended in defeat on post-match penalties, and it was a fair reflection of the game by all means. Toulouse came from behind in the game, led, then fell behind before Rasmus Nicolaisen scored a stoppage time equalizer. There was however no escape in the penalties and now Toulouse have all to do to bounce back. That result left them with just two wins in six matches, and it was their fourth draw in 10 games. They haven't exceled much at home in recent times, failing to win their last four games at the Toulouse Stadium.

Lens aren’t in a better position either; they come into this game having suffered three straight defeats. Their 2-0 loss at home to PSG just about heightened their desperate need to bounce back. It was the third time in as many matches that they conceded more than a goal and will hope for improvement here. In Ligue 1, Lens are coming here on the back of two straight defeats and have failed to score in three of four league games. Their scoring run is even poorer away from home, and that could jeopardize their plans here. In their last five away league matches, Lens failed to score in four. They however managed four clean sheets in those five away matches. This season, across all competitions, Lens have managed just two away wins, against Strasbourg, and struggling Clermont. This will form a major worry for manager Franck Haise. The coach will however want to take solace in the fact that Lens have beaten Toulouse in each of their last five meetings.
