Another London derby is upon us; Tottenham Hotspur will be hosting West Ham United in their next Premier League game as the two sides seek to return to winning ways. Tottenham Hotspur will go into this game having secured 39 points, in fifth place while West Ham United have posted 20 points and are 16th. For the hosts, the last two games haven't brought the expected returns, losing both after a morale-boosting win over Manchester City. They are coming from a 1-0 away loss to AC Milan in the Champions League, which followed on from a 4-1 loss to Leicester City in the league. Being just two points behind fourth placed Newcastle United and with a game more, Spurs will really want to push for three points here. Three defeats in their last five league matches tell the story of Spurs’ inconsistent season. In the last five league games they’ve conceded two or more goals on three occasions, and only scored more than a goal in one. Four times in the last six league matches, they have lost at home.

West Ham United will go into this game unbeaten in their last four matches, and this should give them the confidence to deal with Spurs. They will know Spurs have struggled at home this season and David Moyes will set up his team to make use of that. In their last two matches, West Ham came from down to secure 1-1 draws with Chelsea and Newcastle United. They had earlier posted wins over Derby County, in the FA Cup, and Everton in the league. In their last four matches, West Ham have scored five first half goals. They haven't trailed at half time in any of the last five, and led at the break in two of the last four. The Hammers have shown big fights in the first half in their recent matches. One area that needs great improvement for them though, is their away form – they have no win in nine straight away league matches. Their only away win in the league this season came against Aston Villa, and they’ve lost seven times.
