Tottenham vs Southampton Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Steve Ashfield | in FA Cup Predictions
Tottenham Hotspur are set to host Southampton in the FA Cup replay after the two sides drew 1-1 at St. Mary’s. A late equalizer saw Southampton force this replay and they will be hoping to complete the job at Tottenham’s backyard. Tottenham will go to the game buoyed by a morale-boosting 2-0 win over Manchester City in the league, and with a five match unbeaten run, they will have the needed motivation for the clash. In their last 10 matches, they have lost just two but they have five losses and just three clean sheets in the last 15 matches. They have scored two or more goals in seven of their last 15 matches. They have also netted two or more in three of their last five matches. Playing at home, Spurs have three straight wins and seven wins in their last 10. They have one clean sheet in six home matches and three of their last five home league matches have ended in wins while they have failed to score in two of the five. In the last eight meetings between these two sides, the side playing away has remained winless. Both sides have, at the same time, won twice in the last five meetings.
Southampton on the other hand, have had a tough run in the past few matches but generally, have shown much improvement. They have no win in the last two matches but have six wins in their last 10 matches. Southampton have two losses and four clean sheets in their last 10 matches. Three of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals and they have scored two or more goals in nine of their last 15 matches. They have four wins in their last five away matches and scored two or more in the four wins. Nine of their last 15 away matches have yielded over 2.5 goals. In the FA Cup, Southampton have lost two and won five of their last 10 matches.

Our Tottenham vs Southampton Prediction
Spurs have their win over Manchester City to propel them in this clash and they will be the more confident, having managed two clean sheets in their last four matches, and playing at home too, where they are on three straight wins. They have scored at least two goals in four of their last five home matches and we expect them to score here too, given the form they carry to this clash. However, Southampton will not be an easy opponent; they have beaten Leicester and Chelsea away from home recently, and the two wins make part of four victories they have had in the last five away matches. Southampton's loss away to Liverpool was expected, and we hope to see some sort of recovery here. They have failed to score in just one of the last 15 away matches and after failing against a much stronger Liverpool, we expect them to score here. However, we feel Spurs will prevail, in this and we are going for a win for the home team.
