A Harry Kane hat-trick helped Tottenham to a 3-0 win at Burnley on Saturday and they ended the weekend in fifth place only a point off the Champions League places. Now they look to get another win as they host a struggling Southampton side. That Wembley hoodoo is history now with Tottenham having won five out of their last six home games at the national stadium. Only Chelsea have beaten them at Wembley in the Premier League and that was the opening game. In all they are unbeaten in their last eight home games at Wembley and only lost one in 13, all figures that don’t make for good reading for Southampton. The away side are struggling big-time at present and have no wins in their last six away league games with just two points earned from those games. They took the lead at home to Huddersfield Town on Saturday but were pegged back to 1-1 and are only three points above the bottom three. Even worse news for them is that Charlie Austin is likely to miss this game. Southampton have only scored five goals in their eight away league games this season and have a poor recent record against Spurs with just one win in the last ten league meetings. With a trip to Old Trafford up after this game, Southampton are becoming heavily involved in the Premier League relegation battle and it could be a busy January for them, perhaps with a new manager. Go for a Tottenham home win in this game.
