Tottenham start the weekend in second place in the Premier League, a point behind leaders Leicester City. Their impressive form will be put to the test when hosting Manchester City who are tenth but with a game in hand. Tottenham began the new season with a home loss to Everton, since then though they have won five of their league games, drawing the other two. 19 goals have been scored by them in the league this season with the partnership of Kane and Son scoring 15 of them. Big wins have come against Manchester United and Southampton with 11 goals in those two games, both on the road. They have had a relatively kind fixture list of late though. The last three league games have been played against sides all in the bottom five and with one league win this season between them. Now comes a stiffer test and it will be fascinating to see how Mourinho’s men get on. There have been signs of fragility with a home draw against Newcastle and giving away a 3-0 home lead over West Ham. They can’t afford to do that in this game.

Manchester City are down in tenth and six points off the top with a game in hand. Early season form wasn’t the usual City standard with four points from their first three games. That included a 5-2 home thrashing by Leicester City. Since that defeat though, City are unbeaten in nine league and cup games. They top their Champions League group with three wins out of three and are in the last eight of the EFL Cup. As for the Premier League, they are unbeaten in five matches. However, only two of those have been won with wins over Arsenal and Sheffield United. Fixtures against Leeds, West Ham and Liverpool have all ended in 1-1 draws. City come into this game unbeaten in their last six away league matches. There have only been three clean sheets in their last nine away league fixtures though and only two in their seven league games this season. A bet on both teams to score is the one to place for what should be an exciting fixture.
