Tottenham vs Leicester Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Steve Ashfield | in Premier League Predictions
Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho was left fuming as his team suffered the first loss in 11 matches, against Liverpool and he will have very little time to recover as a home game against Leicester City is next. After 13 matches, Tottenham have 25 points and in second place while Leicester City are fourth on 24 points. Both sides head to this game on the back of losses and will be fighting out for a win. Spurs were earlier held by Crystal Palace and going winless in two matches he felt his team was the better side would definitely irk Mourinho, but he will have to do something extra as the games pile. Lead scorer Son Heung-Min did level against Liverpool after Mohamed Salah’s opener but Roberto Firmino scored in the final minute to sink Spurs. They have now failed to win in three of their last five matches but Son has scored three goals in the last five and has 11 to his name in the league this season. A lot of improvement will be needed in defence as they go head to head with Leicester City; Spurs have two clean sheets in the last five matches but they have been impressive in attack, failing to score in just one of the last 11 matches. They have nine wins and only two losses in the last 15 matches while they have scored two or more goals in 14 of their last 24 games this season. Mourinho’s side head to this game on four straight clean sheets at home and unbeaten in 10 matches at their backyard. They only lost at home in their opening game of the season, against Everton. This will be a perfect chance for a response on the Liverpool loss, as Spurs play at home, where they have six straight wins and have scored two or more goals in the last eight home matches. In the last three league matches at home, Spurs have registered wins and have scored two or more goals in four straight home league games. They however have just two clean sheets in their six league matches at home this season but having won four of their last five meetings with Leicester, and scoring two goals in each of the wins, Spurs will be confident heading to this clash. Six of the last seven meetings between these two sides have produced over 2.5 goals.
Leicester City, on their part, suffered a 2-0 loss in their home match against Everton on Wednesday. Richarlison and Mason Holgate grabbed the goals for Everton to deny The Foxes a fourth straight win and they will have a daunting task out in London. In their last visit to North London, Leicester bagged three points against Arsenal but this is a completely different opponent. Leicester will feel they should have won a penalty against Everton but that is water under the bridge and they have lead scorer Jamie Vardy who can always turn their fortunes for the better. The striker has scored 10 goals this season and really enjoys away matches, as eight of those have come away from home – in six matches. Leicester have three wins in the last five matches, and two clean sheets in the last eight games, while they have failed to score in three of the eight matches. The Foxes have scored two or more goals in five of their last 10 matches and have five wins in the last 10 games. They have three losses in the last five league matches. The five league matches have produced just one clean sheet and the team has conceded two or more goals in three. Away league matches have presented good times for Leicester City; they have five wins in the six played this season. However, in the six away league games, they have only two clean sheets and have scored two or more goals in four. With just one win in the last five meeting with Spurs, Leicester will need a big lift.

Our Tottenham vs Leicester Prediction
These two sides hope to recover from Round 13 losses and with matches piling up in December, back to back losses is unthinkable. Spurs have a good run at home and Leicester have proven to be good away from home and these factors will be in play here. However, with Spurs’ winning run at home, and consistently scoring, we feel they will be the favorites here. While Leicester have done well away from home, they have struggled in defiance and that is what may be the difference here, looking at the home team’s forwards’ form. We however can’t rule out a Jamie Vardy goal.
All tips are fully researched and given in good faith, but profits cannot be guaranteed.
