Tottenham Hotspur got to the final of the UEFA Champions League last season but they were underwhelming in the game as they fell to Liverpool. Their charge this season has also not gotten off to a very good start as they could only manage a 2 – 2 draw with Olympiakos away from home. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are enjoying a fine start to the season and have only dropped points in a 1 – 1 draw with Leipzig and a 2 – 2 draw with Hertha Berlin. Tottenham have managed just three wins from their opening nine matches but draws with Arsenal and Manchester City will give them the belief ahead of a match up with Bayern Munich. One area that Spurs have done well is in attack; they have scored in seven of the nine matches so far and in six of the nine they have scored two goals or more. In Champions League action, Spurs have one win in their last five matches and they have conceded two or more in four of those. Harry Kane has been in good form too lately and has scored in each of the three matches he has been fielded. Philippe Coutinho and Serge Gnabry, two players with a good understanding of Tottenham, were outstanding in the win over Paderborn and will be crucial in this game as well. In their last eight matches, Bayern have scored three goals or more in six. They only failed to score in the very first game of the season, the Super Cup clash against Borussia Dortmund. In the Champions League, they started well, with a 3 – 0 win over Red Star Belgrade and will be hoping to extend the same to the London side, but it will not be easy. They have two wins in the last five Champions League games, but just one loss in the last 10. Away from home, Bayern have gone on a nine – game unbeaten run, with six wins and three draws therein. They have failed to score in just three of 15 away matches in the competition.
