Tottenham vs Everton Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Predictions
Tottenham Hotspur will hope to revive dwindling Champions League hopes when they play host to Everton on Monday in Round 33 of the Premier League. Ahead of the game, Spurs are ninth in the standings with 45 points, one ahead of Everton, who are placed 11th. Tottenham suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Sheffield United in their last match leaving them with one win in the three matches they have played since football returned. The Sheffield defeat exposed the team’s mental frailty as the players completely lost the fight after being controversially denied a goal by VAR. Losing to Sheffield United stretched Spurs’ poor run to just one win in nine matches while six of the nine matches have ended in defeat (one on post match penalties). They haven’t done well defensively too, with one clean sheet in their last 11 matches, but credit to their attack – they have failed to score in just three of the last 15 matches. Spurs’ last win (against West Ham United) came at home, ending a run of four home matches without a win and it also provided a first clean sheet in six home matches. It is clear Jose Mourinho’s side has struggled defensively but going forward the team has done well; they have failed to score in just one of the last nine home matches. Tottenham have scored two or more goals in seven of their last 10 league matches at home but they have no clean sheet in 12 of 16 home league matches.
Spurs face an Everton side that has done well since football returned. The Liverpool side has won back to back games ahead of this clash and will be looking to hold on their unbeaten run after the restart. In their last match, they beat Leicester City 2-1 though they were just clinging on at the end of that clash, having taken a 2-0 lead at the break. Just like Spurs, they are looking to close down a European slot and though they are 11th, the gap between them and seventh placed Sheffield United is just three points. Manager Carlo Ancelotti will need a good strategy for this away game. They have not done so well away from home; in their last three visits to London, they have managed just one point – in the draw with West Ham United. After that they lost to Chelsea then Arsenal. In their last away match they managed a win though, beating Norwich 1-0. Overall, Everton have nine losses and four wins in 16 away matches in the Premier League. Out of the 16 away league matches, 10 have produced over 2.5 goals and both sides have scored in 11. The Toffees have major injury doubts in forwards Theo Walcott, Fabian Delph and Richarlison, which could slow down their progress.

Our Tottenham vs Everton Prediction
This match brings together two of football’s most tactical coaches – Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti. Their teams are fighting for spots in Europe and we expect them to go for the kill. However, one thing is that they have both not been as convincing in defence as they have been in attack. Games between the two sides have been action packed lately and we don’t expect this to be different. In 11 of Everton’s last 16 away league matches, both sides have scored, and the Toffees have lost nine of the 16. On the other hand, Spurs have one clean sheet in their last 11 matches and have conceded in 12 of 16 home matches in the league. Tottenham have scored two or more in seven of the last 10 league games played at home and we feel they will go all out here, hoping to take advantage of playing at home. Going for a 2-1 win for Spurs on the correct score scale can pass here.
