Tottenham Hotspur got away with a narrow win over Fulham and will be hoping for another three points when they get to host Crystal Palace. Heading to their second straight London derby, Spurs are placed eighth on 42 points while Palace are 13th with 34 points. Tottenham head to this game with three straight wins, and three clean sheets, a sign of their improving defence. The win over Fulham, though through an own goal, presented the first time since November that they’ve won back to back league games. They’ve been great in attack lately, scoring 14 goals in the last five pushing four of their last five matches to end in over 2.5 goals. Their target is definitely to finish in the Champions League slots, and they’re currently just five points below the top four and with a game in hand against the fourth placed Chelsea. In the last two home matches in the league, Spurs have managed six goals and kept clean sheets. They haven’t lost to Palace in the last four meetings but the last two ended in 1-1 draws.

Crystal Palace have also been impressive in defence lately but their biggest achievement is going without a loss in the last three matches and moving 11 points clear of the bottom three. The improvement in defence has seen the team keep two straight clean sheets, the most recent against Manchester United but they’ve also failed to score in four of the last five matches. In their last five league matches, they’ve scored only two goals, and conceded six. With two wins in the last three away matches in the league, Palace will feel ready for this game though they should expect it tougher than Brighton and Newcastle United. Failure to score coupled with the better defensive outputs have seen three of the team’s last five league matches end in under 2.5 goals. To crack a back to form Spurs, Palace will need to improve on their away run, having failed to score in four of the last six in the league. They have won just five of their last 13 away league games.
