Tottenham Hotspur will shift focus back to the Premier League after their disappointment in Belgium, and a home game against Brighton awaits them on Sunday. The North London side has so far managed 11 points and is placed fifth on the standings while Brighton are 16th with five points after six matches. Spurs registered a 1-0 win over Burnley in their last match, Son Heung-Min scoring his eighth league goal of the season as the team kept a clean sheet for the first time in the league this season. Going to this clash, it is their home form in the league that Tottenham will be worried about, having failed to win any of their three there so far. They lost to Everton in their opening game of the season and in their second home game dropped their guard to draw with Newcastle after leading in the final minute. Their most recent home game was the most painful; after leading West Ham United 3-0 in the 16th minute, the clash ended 3-3, with the Hammers scoring all their goals in the final eight minutes. In their 12 matches this season, Spurs have managed just two clean sheets but have well compensated for that by scoring in 10 of the 12 matches.

Brighton, on the other hand, have failed to win any of their last four league matches. Actually, their only win in the league this season came in Round 2, when they thrashed Newcastle United 3-0. One positive for them though is that they have scored in each of their league matches so far this season. Brighton were unlucky to drop points in their last match, after conceding in the 83rd minute to share spoils with West Bromwich Albion. The match, which ended 1-1, was their second straight draw and having beaten Spurs in the corresponding match last season, they will hope they can do it in London this time. They will however, be without Lewis Dunk for this game as he serves the second of his two-match suspension. In their last 10 away league matches, Brighton have lost just once, though only three have ended in wins, and they have failed to score in only two of the last 11.
