Tigres are 24th in the table with only four teams below them in the Argentina Superliga. It's been a tough season for them with just two league wins so far and only 14 goals scored. December saw their manager Ricardo Caruso Lombardi leave the club and replaced by Cristian Ledesma but he's not managed to spark a recovery just yet. Their only win in the last ten league games was a home win over Argentinos Juniors on February 12 but their last four league games have produced three draws and a loss. Both of their wins this season have come at home, the win in February was the first they had managed since November 19 and they have just one win in their last five home league games. 

Independiente are fourth in the table and that would earn them an automatic place in the Copa Libertadores. They only lead fifth placed Godoy Cruz by one point but are a point adrift of third placed San Lorenzo. They have only lost three out of 18 league games and conceded just 11 goals. They have only lost one of their last 14 league games and only conceded one goal in their last five league matches. Away form is strong and they come into this game having lost none of their last seven away league games with five clean sheets in the last six. Form is firmly on the side of the visitors so go for an away win in this league game.
