The Stadio Libero Liberati plays host to an intriguing matchup for the sixteenth round of Serie B action, with Ternana clashing with Cagliari. Ternana’s misery piled on after falling to an embarrassing 2-1 defeat against Venezia. In what was their golden chance to escape their current blip, the hosts fell to an agonising defeat against a team that had won a single point from their first seven league home games. It is now six winless games on the spin for Ternana, who have lost three of those and under serious threat to lose touch with the league’s top four places. Cagliari’s form on the road is not much better either. They have failed to win in their last five away games, managing just one victory in their last nine outings. On the upside, their positive record against Ternana should guide them here, with a matchup against a severely out of form team being a first class chance for them to get back to winning ways.
