Tanzania vs Malawi Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies
by Daniel Ngulu | in Football Predictions
Malawi are enjoying good times in football after securing a place in the next African Cup of Nations competition and they will be hoping to also have an impact in the coming World Cup qualifiers. To help them in the preparations for that, they will be making the short trip to Tanzania for a Sunday friendly match in Dar es Salaam. Hosts Tanzania saw their AFCON hopes crushed in the qualifiers which ended in March even though they wrapped up with a 1-0 home win over Libya. They can only hope for good preps for the coming World Cup qualifiers and going to this game they have just three wins in 15 matches. Their win over Libya marked the second clean sheet they’ve kept in 11 matches and they’ve failed to score in five of their last 10 matches. A highlight of their matches is that they are normally low scoring; the last 14 have produced over 2.5 goals in just three and Tanzania have scored twice in just one. Home form, however, has been somehow encouraging; Taifa Stars are unbeaten in three home matches, and have just one loss in six. Only two of these home games have produced over 2.5 goals though.
The last time Malawi played a friendly match, it ended in a 4-0 loss, to Ethiopia. Thy however recovered from it with wins over South Sudan and Uganda, which saw the team secure a place at the AFCON finals. They will have very different targets when they take on Tanzania in their next friendly match, and have kept three clean sheets in their last four matches. The visitors have five wins in 15 matches but the key interest in this game will be their defence, which has managed eight clean sheets in the last 13 matches, while in attack, they haven’t scored more than a goal in this period. Actually, they’ve failed to score in seven of the last 13 games. Their away form is however not very impressive; they have one win in the last eight, and that came against a lowly ranked South Sudan, and remains their only clean sheet in the last eight.

Our Tanzania vs Malawi Prediction
Some rustiness is expected here with this friendly organized in a rush and the teams having been in action last three months ago. One factor about this game is the low-scoring nature of the teams’ matches. These nations rarely score two in a game and going to this, with the aforementioned rustiness, we expect under 2.5 goals.
