Talleres de Cordoba will play host to River Plate in the Copa Libertadores Round of 16 first leg on Thursday morning. The winner of this round will move on to face either Colo Colo or Atletico Junior in the quarter-final. Let’s jump into the match prediction. 

After an impressive 2023 domestic league season, Talleres have found it difficult to follow up this term, currently sitting in seventh place in the second phase of the Argentine Primera Division with 17 points after 10 games.

Albiazul are now set to enter this match off the back of four consecutive 1-1 draws in the league and winless in their last five games.

However, they had no such difficulty in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores, where they finished with 13 points and a record of four wins, one draw and just one loss.

Notably, though, while Los Millonarios are unbeaten on the road in this tournament, they have not won any of their last five away games in all competitions since the Copa Libertadores group stage came to an end.
