Sydney vs Western Sydney Wanderers Prediction & Betting Tips - A-League

The Sydney derby pits Sydney FC against Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday morning (9.30am kick off) in what will be the 38th meeting between the two teams. The home side Sydney FC lie fourth in the table on 35 points and it would take a strange sequence of results for them to miss out on the Finals series with just three games remaining of the regular season. A win against their local rivals would secure that here and they have solid home form having won 6 of their 11 home games, drawing 2 and losing 3. They are unbeaten in their last seven home games in the A-League winning five and drawing two of those matches. Their 43 goals scored this season is the second highest in the division, but they have also shipped 38 goals against them in those 24 matches so far this season. 

Western Sydney Wanderers lie sixth in the A-League table and occupy the last spot that qualifies for the Finals Series, however they are four points ahead of Melbourne City who are 7th in the table with just three games remaining. They are a point off the two teams above them, today's opponents Sydney FC and Macarthur, so a win here could see them jump to fourth in the table. WSW have won 10 and lost 10 games this season, drawing four, and their issues have predominantly been at home, where they have struggled of late failing to win any of the last five and losing four of those games. However, away from home, they have won three of the last four. This derby is also unusual as in the last six times the two have met, the away team has won each time, including both games between the teams this season.
