Italy top World Cup qualifying Group C by six points. However, Switzerland are in second and have two games in hand on the group leaders. The same applies to Northern Ireland who travel to Switzerland three points behind their opponents. Italy are on Nations League duty so the coming week will see these two countries use up those games in hand. Switzerland have played two qualifiers since making it to the last eight at Euro 2020. They drew 0-0 at home to Italy and then travelled to Northern Ireland for another goalless draw. Over 90 minutes, Switzerland only have one loss in their last 15 games, the 3-0 loss to Italy at Euro 2020. They haven't lost a home World Cup qualifier since 2008 and have played 17 games without defeat since then. 

Northern Ireland can go second if winning this game. Their form has improved of late with just one defeat (by Ukraine) in their last six matches. They had gone 13 games without a win before beating Malta in May of this year. Away form has seen three wins in their last 10 (over 90 minutes) but they were achieved against Malta, Lithuania and Estonia. Four of their last six matches have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. Games between these two countries aren't usually a goalfest. Just six goals in seven matches and three of those were in one game. The last five meetings have produced just two goals. Back under 2.5 goals to be scored in this match.
