Sweden vs Poland Prediction & Betting Tips - Euro
by Nella Wagah | in Euro Predictions
Four points should be enough for Sweden to advance to the knockout stage of Euro 2020 but they may go for more when they take on Poland in the final game of Group E. Sweden lead this group on four points, three better than Poland, who will be seeking a win to see them through to the second round. Sweden had to give a lot for the 1-0 win over Slovakia in their last game, Emil Forsberg scoring the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 77th minute. They are yet to concede in this competition, having played to a 0-0 draw with Spain in the opening game and of the four teams in this group they are the best placed. One of Sweden’s best qualities coming up is their sturdy defence; they’ve kept six clean sheets in the last seven matches and only conceded one goal in the process. A seven-game unbeaten run should also give them the needed belief as they progress in the competition. The Swedes have had a fair share of troubles with Covid-19 but will be glad to have Dejan Kulusevski back after isolating. He was on the bench for the Slovakia game, but Mattias Svanberg remains in isolation.
Poland were impressive in their 1-1 draw with Spain, clawing back from a goal down to draw with the former European champions after a rather underwhelming opening game against Slovakia. They have one point and are in with a chance here, but to them it is a must win clash. They matched a wasteful Spain in their second game and should be planning for a better defence against Sweden, who are proving to be tough to crack. Robert Lewandowski impressed in the game against Spain and got the equalizer as Poland pushed on. They were lucky though that Spain missed a second half penalty and here they’ll want to rely more on their performance than luck. Getting to face this Sweden side without a win in the last five matches isn’t the best position Poland would wish for and especially this being a game they must win. The pressure will be on the Poles and one clean sheet only in the last nine matches doesn’t also help their targets as they have the worst goal difference in the group at the moment.

Our Sweden vs Poland Prediction
Poland will be the side under pressure here; to advance, they must win this game. They face a sturdy Sweden side though and it will take a lot to get that needed win. Sweden have proven to be great in both defence and attack. Poland are expected to employ an offensive strategy, but with that, they may be stung by this Swedish side that has scored consistently. Meanwhile, Poland may be short defensively, but have a very good front line and have only failed to score once in the last 10 matches. This is an important feature they’ll need here and with all these, we expect these nations to balance out, so go for a draw.
