11 years ago Italy won the World Cup, the following two tournaments saw them exit at the group stage and now they might not even make it to Russia. They faced a difficult qualifying group being drawn alongside Spain. They managed to get 22 points out of eight games but the other two against the Spaniards only produced a point so the Italians finished second ten points clear of third placed Albania. Away form in that group saw them win four but lose in Spain and that loss is their only one in 14 games. A loss for Italy in World Cup qualifiers is rare with just one in the last 37 and just a single one in the last 18.  Sweden finished second behind France and ahead of the Netherlands only on goal difference. They were unbeaten at home in that group winning four and drawing the other. It's their away form which is a worry for the second leg as they lost three out of five. They haven't qualified for the finals since 2006 but have lost two of their last four games though the last four at home have been won by an aggregate of 20-1. Italy were unlucky to be in the same group as Spain and this should be a tight game so bet on under 2.5 goals.
