Swansea vs Watford Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Joseph King | in Championship Predictions
Matchday 25 in the English Championship sees struggling Swansea City hosting promotion hopefuls Watford at the Liberty Stadium in Wales. It’s been somewhat of a disappointing campaign for Watford as we near the halfway point in the season as they were expected to challenge for the Championship title. Instead, the Hornets find themselves in fourth-place with 10 wins, seven draws and seven defeats from their 24 matches played, putting them on 37 points. Watford trail leaders Burnley by a daunting 13 points and they trail second-place Sheffield United by 10 points. The visitors will be looking to get back to winning ways here after falling to a 2-0 home defeat to Millwall in their last outing, a result which now makes it only one win from their last four league outings.
On the other side is Swansea, who will be desperate to put an end to a lengthy run without a victory. It’s now been eight matches since they last picked up three points and their recent run of awful form has seen the Swans drop all the way down to 16th in the standings. In fact, the only win for Swansea in the last two months has come in a friendly match against Dundee during the World Cup break. Despite what seems like a long climb to the top six and thus a spot in the promotion playoffs, Swansea’s record of eight wins, eight draws and eight defeats on the season puts them on 32 points and only three points behind sixth-place Millwall. The hosts suffered a 2-1 defeat to Reading in their last outing which was their second defeat in the last three matches.

Our Swansea vs Watford Prediction
The oddsmakers have Swansea City listed as the home favorite despite their lengthy winless run. While they have certainly been a better team in front of the home fans, Watford has been picking up consistent momentum on their travels and have taken 10 points from a possible 12 in their last four away league matches. We like the Hornets to keep that run going here and you can back them at an excellent price being the away underdogs. Our prediction for Swansea City vs Watford is Watford draw no bet.
