Swansea vs Rotherham Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

In their bid to rise away from the relegation zone, Rotherham United will travel to Swansea City on Monday for a round 34 English Championship clash to be played at the Liberty Stadium. Rotherham are 20th in the table with 36 points, five points above the relegation zone while Swansea are 13th with 42 points. Swansea come into this match on a downward spiral as they have won just one of their last seven matches across all competitions. Russell Martin’s men have lost five matches in that spell including their last two outings. Swansea were humbled 3-1 at home by Stoke last time out. They have struggled at home all season with seven of their 11 losses in the league coming in front of home support. The home team has lost three of the four matches at home this year and this will give Rotherham confidence going into this match. Swansea’s defence has aided in their capitulation this season with 53 goals conceded which is the league’s worst tally. A bright spark in their season has been their ability to score goals where they are among the league’s top five most potent teams with 47 strikes so far. The Swans have had 14 different players score this season with the newest addition to that list being young forward Morgan Whittaker who scored the opener against Stoke. Joe Piroe remains their leading scorer with 11 goals though he has hit a bit of a lull and hasn’t found the net in his last four matches.
Rotherham come into this match worse off than Swansea though they did beat Sunderland last time out to claw further away from the relegation zone and they will be hoping to replicate the same on Monday. The win over Sunderland was only the second in their last 14 matches across all competitions and it halted a run of five games without a win. In front of goal they have struggled and have scored two or more goals a game just twice this year. They have been kept from scoring four times in their nine matches in 2023 though they did put four past Blackburn earlier in the year. They have kept just three clean sheets in that run meaning that a bet of Swansea scoring here is feasible. Oliver Rathbone and Shane Ferguson scored last time out but Chiedozie Ogbene remains their biggest threat with six goals. Rotherham could be without the services of defenders Lee Peltier and Grant Hall who were both withdrawn with injury against Sunderland.
