Swansea vs QPR Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Nella Wagah | in Championship Predictions
Swansea City will be looking to keep alive their slim hopes of automatic promotion when they host QPR on Match Day 43 in the Championship. They’ve managed 76 points and are in third place, with QPR in 10th place on 59 points. In their last game, Swansea drew 2-2 with bottom placed Wycombe Wanderers, failing to take advantage of second placed Watford’s slip. With that, the Swans remain six points below the automatic promotion slot and will have a tough task against QPR, who don’t have much to gain in the remaining matches. Swansea failed to register a third straight win and it got worse as lead goal scorer Andre Ayew suffered a knee injury in the eighth minute of the game on Saturday. They had to come from two goals down after a poor start, and once again Jamal Lowe was among the scorers to rescue Swansea, scoring the first from the penalty spot – his fourth goal in three matches. The team has now scored two or more in each of the last three matches, a run they’ll hope to carry to their second straight game at home. They’ll need some luck too, having failed to win in the last three home Championship matches. It hasn’t been great in the recent home games, the last five producing one win, three losses, no clean sheet and eight goals conceded. As Swansea hope for Watford’s stumble so they can get an automatic promotion slot, it is important to note that they haven’t yet secured a playoff spot. As things stand, they still need four points from the remaining four matches to get that.
QPR can’t get to the promotion playoff spots despite their fairly impressive form recently. They recovered from the shock loss to Rotherham United with a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough. After going on a 2-0 lead over Boro, a Yannick Bolasie header in the 28th minute meant they went for a fourth straight game without a clean sheet, and for the fifth straight time, their matches have produced over 2.5 goals. Goalkeeper Timothy Dieng will miss this game after his red card in the last match, and it will be tough without the Senegalese shot stopper who has played 39 matches, keeping 10 clean sheets. Dieng’s absence leaves Joe Lumley in charge and after a good showing when he came on against Boro, QPR can be confident of the cover available. He has played four matches this season and kept two clean sheets. Upfront, Lyndon Dykes, will be the man in focus after scoring four times in the last four matches and with an unimpressive recent away run perhaps he can bring the needed break. QPR have two wins in their last seven away matches in the Championship and have conceded in five of six.

Our Swansea vs QPR Prediction
Swansea are in the promotion race and need points from this game more than QPR, who are only focused on a strong finish. While Swansea haven’t done well at home in recent matches, their quality can’t be doubted especially in the way the picked up after losing Andre Ayew and going down 2-0 in the last game. QPR haven’t been doing well away from home and will be further weakened with their first choice keeper absent. This is a crucial game for Swansea, so go for a home win.
