As the Championship goes into the 14th round of action, the big treat will be the South Wales Derby, as Swansea City hosts Cardiff City in a match none of the two will want to lose. Ahead of the game, Swansea are ninth in the Championship standings with 22 points and Cardiff 13th on 18 points. This is the first South Wales Derby since 2014 when the two met in the Premier League, with Swansea winning 3-0. We doubt if that will matter a lot now but the bragging rights will be up there for grabs. Going to the match, both sides have been unimpressive. They haven’t managed wins in the last three outings each and it has been worse for Swansea. The hosts have managed just a point in the last three matches and have particularly struggled a home. At the start of the season, Swansea went on an eight – game unbeaten run with seven wins therein. But since then, they have managed just one win in the last eight and have no clean sheet in the last five matches. They have struggled at home more than away; in the last four home matches in the Championship, they have just one point to show. In the six home matches they have played in the Championship, Swansea have managed just one clean sheet.

Cardiff have won just two of their last 10 matches and registered just three clean sheets in the run. They have not managed an away win this season, losing three of the seven played. They will however be banking on Swansea’s struggles at home. They have however managed to score in each of their last four away matches. In the seven, they have actually failed to score in just two. In the remaining five, they have score twice in four.
