Swansea vs Burnley Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Joseph King | in Championship Predictions
Burnley will look to extend their lead atop the table when they head to Wales to take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium for matchday 26 of the English Championship. The visitors are looking to win immediate promotion back into the Premier League after their six year run in the top flight was put to an end in a 2021/22 season that finished in relegation. The Clarets hold a three point lead over second-place Sheffield United and have opened up a significant 14 point lead over third-place Blackburn. Looking to put an end to their fine run is a Swansea side sitting firmly in the middle of the pack. The Swans sit 12th in the standings but a congested table means that the hosts are only one point out of the top six and a playoff position.

Swansea - Burnley: Form Analysis
Burnley have enjoyed a successful return to competitive action following the extended World Cup break which started in the middle of November. A 1-0 away victory over Stoke City on Friday means that manager Vincent Kompany’s side have now won all four of their league matches since returning. The only loss that Burnley have suffered in the month of December came at the hands of Manchester United in a 2-0 away defeat in the EFL Cup. On the other side, Swansea were able to grab their first win since returning to competitive football with a convincing 4-0 home win over a talented Watford side in matchday 25. The result ended an eight match winless run and a skid of two losses in the previous three games. The four goal tally also represents Swansea’s highest goal scoring output of the season after previously reaching the three goal mark on four separate occasions so far this campaign.

Swansea & Burnley Squad Analysis
Vincent Kompany made a bold decision to rest his usual starting front three of Jay Rodriguez, Nathan Tella and Anass Zaroury in their win over Stoke City on Friday in a move that looks like it could pay off huge for the Clarets. The three were able to pick up some invaluable rest and should return to action against Swansea raring to go. The only injury concern for the visitors is Vitinho, who is listed as doubtful ahead of this clash. For the hosts, they will be without Liam Walsh and could be without key striker Michael Obafemi who is listed as doubtful for this match. Joe Allen could return to the midfield after missing out on Friday but a similar 11 to the one that beat Watford is expected.

Our Swansea vs Burnley Prediction
Burnley are looking unstoppable at the moment and Vincent Kompany has his side playing some excellent football. The Clarets have been the most consistent side in the division so far and look good value to top the division. 50 goals scored in 25 matches has them as the top scoring Championship side and Burnley have only failed to find the net on one occasion this campaign, further highlighting their attacking consistency. At the current price, it’s hard for us to pass up on backing the in-form team. Our Swansea vs Burnley prediction: Burnley to win the match.
