The fifth tier of English football presents an interesting clash next week when Sutton United host AFC Fylde. Sutton, 14th in the table, are, with only eight points between them and the drop, not yet out of the woods in terms of a relegation battle. However, they can still make the play-off places should the season continue as scheduled. Fylde, meanwhile, are in the doldrums of the National League, 23rd in the table, four points from safety. Recent matches have shown signs of life with the minnows going unbeaten in their last three games, winning two of them. It is by no means form good enough to even grace the top half of the form table but they will take every game as it comes and other such clichés. The biggest goal threat for the home side comes in the form of the wonderfully-named Harry Beautyman. The midfielder has 15 goals this season, making him one of the top scorers in the division. Goalscoring midfielders abound the lower leagues of English football. Fylde have one of their own, Jordan Williams, who has found the back of the net nine times in this campaign. As one might expect from a team near the bottom of the table, Fylde have shipped a lot of goals this season, 60 in 38 games. Of late, they have been performing better in terms of clean sheets, conceding only one goal in their last three games. With two of their last three encounters ending without any goals being scored, this could be another tight affair. Back a stalemate.
