It's do or die time at Sunderland and sadly they are quite used to it.  Each season seems to have them battling the dreaded drop and planning the great escape. It's no different this season and Sunderland trail 17th placed Norwich City by two points but with a game in hand. The next few games are really going to be vital as Norwich take on Newcastle this weekend and Sunderland then travel to Norwich on April 16. Trouble is the game in between those is a home clash with league leaders Leicester City. Sunderland aren't in that bad form at present with just one defeat in the last six Premier League games. They've only managed six points though and have drawn their last three. Sunderland led in all three of those games so should be out of the bottom three. They have eight points from their last five home games so that does give them some hope as does the form of Jermaine Defoe who has scored eight goals this year. West Brom did have a few worries about getting dragged into a relegation dogfight but start this weekend in 11th place and safe. That's despite losing at home to Norwich in their last game and away from home they have just seven points from the last eight away league matches. I think Sunderland can continue their fight against the drop with a vital home win here, then it's an anxious look at the score between Newcastle and Norwich!
