Sunderland will be out to get back to winning ways when they host West Brom on Saturday in the English Championship. After 19 rounds of play, five points separate the two sides with West Brom in fifth having the advantage over ninth-placed Sunderland. Sunderland are experiencing a dip in form and haven’t won in three outings. Mike Dodd’s charges have lost twice in this unwanted spell which has precipitated their drop from the top six. Sunderland did however earn a point from their last match, a 1-1 draw with Millwall, and will now want to build on this. The Black Cats have amassed 27 points and five of their eight wins have come with them as hosts.

West Brom have a strong recent record against Sunderland and were victorious at the Stadium of Light last season. That 2-1 win was Albion's second victory in the last three meetings with Sunderland. It should therefore add to pumping up their spirits ahead of this fixture. West Brom have been in good form in the last couple of months though they are coming off a defeat. Carlos Corberan’s men were defeated 2-1 at home by league leaders Leicester last time out. They conceded the winner late in stoppage time to see a two-match winning run ended. West Brom have picked up an impressive 15 points from their last eight games and this has kept them in the playoff places.
