Sunderland won only their second league game of the season on Monday and that has taken them to within a point of safety now. They still struggle for consistency though so that win might not lead to another one here. One problem is that they struggle to score goals even with Jermaine Defoe up front. They have only scored 14 goals in 13 games and have failed to score in five of those games including twice at home. Stoke City aren't exactly top of the goalscoring charts either. In fact between them Sunderland and Stoke have scored three goals less than table-topping Leicester City. Stoke are 11th and only two points off sixth place in the table and their away form is impressive. Last weekend they won 1-0 at Southampton and have only conceded five goals in seven games but only managed to score six times. Five consecutive clean sheets on their travels away from home is great and I reckon a bet on under 2.5 goals looks a good one here.
