Sunderland vs Newcastle Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

There are two big derby matches in the Premier League this weekend. In Manchester, United face City with both teams in the top three. Over at the Stadium of Light it's Sunderland v Newcastle and both teams are in the bottom three. Sunderland are still chasing their first win in the Premier League and are bottom of the table five points from safety. This is their first home game under new boss Sam Allardyce who just happens to be a former Newcastle boss. He started his reign in charge of Sunderland with a 1-0 defeat at West Brom, that will have given him an idea of just how big a job he has to keep his new team in the Premier League. They did show some promise recently with that 2-2 home draw with West Ham and will hope to build on that home form here against a side they have a good record against in recent years. Newcastle are two places above their rivals and had a thumping 6-2 home win over Norwich last Sunday. That will keep Steve McLaren in his job for a little while longer but that win probably had more to do with the appalling performance by Norwich than Newcastle finally finding form. Their away record is a big worry with just one point from four games and just one goal. That's why I see this as a game Sunderland shouldn't lose, trouble is it's difficult in having too much faith in them to win at present so Sunderland-draw looks the safest way of making a profit.
