When you're four points from safety the last thing you need to have is the visit of Manchester City. Sunderland must be sick of the sight of City having played them twice this season and lost both games 4-1. In fact they've lost their last six games against City and conceded 20 goals in those games. Sunderland know that the next few weeks are vital for them. That gap of four points can't get much wider but after this game they travel to Anfield and then play Manchester United at home. Three more defeats from these games and relegation really will look inevitable. It's a big week for Manchester City too as they chase four trophies this season. They hammered Aston Villa in the FA Cup at the weekend and before that came from behind to beat Everton and reach the Capital One Cup Final. Now they get back to the Premier League and after this game they are home to leaders Leicester on Saturday before a home game against Liverpool. City have had lots of problems in away games this season but have already won here 4-1 in the Capital One Cup. They have only lost one of their last six away games (that was at Goodison in the Capital One Cup) and they're certainly not having problems scoring with 13 in their last four games. It looks like another long miserable evening for Sunderland fans.
