It's been another long season for Sunderland with a relegation battle from the day they lost at Leicester on the opening day of the season (and look what happened to them!). Recent results have been good though and a great comeback against Chelsea on Saturday took them out of the bottom three. A win over Everton or at Watford at the weekend. The last four games have seen them gain two wins and two draws and it looks as if Sam Allardyce is working his magic again. Even the defence has finally improved a bit with only three conceded in the last four. Home form has seen them earn nine points from the last six games with only Leicester beating them.  Jermaine Defoe has hit 11 goals for Sunderland in 2016 and just one or two more will ensure Premier League football again next season. Everton will be glad when this season comes to an end, it's been really disappointing lately and their fans have really got it in for Martinez who'll be lucky to be boss next season. Saturday saw them lose at Leicester and they have just six points from their last eight league matches. A top ten finish is still a possibility but with Lukaku not in scoring form they just seem to be really short of goals at present with just two in the last five away league games. This looks a golden opportunity for Sunderland to win and avoid a last day nail-biter. Plus a win relegates Newcastle and that's always guaranteed to put a smile on the face of any Sunderland fan.
