Sudan vs Ghana Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON

Ghana are top of Group C in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. They have won all three of their games and travel to Sudan who are third with three points. The two sides met last week with Ghana getting a 2-0 home victory. Swansea City striker Andre Ayew scored both their goals, one in each half. They’ve now scored five goals in this group and the last three have been courtesy of the Ayew brothers. Ghana have a three point lead over second-placed South Africa. A win in Sudan will take them into the finals, where they’ll attempt to win the title for the fifth time in their history. Ghana are yet to concede a goal in this group and come into this game with one loss (away to Mali) in their last six matches, a stat that also applies to their away form. In terms of away qualifiers in this competition, Ghana have just one defeat (again in six matches) but only conceded in of them.

Sudan are three points adrift of the second and final qualifying position currently held by South Africa. They haven’t qualified for the finals of this competition since 2012. Sudan still have to play the South Africans at home when qualifying resumes in March 2021. This week also sees South Africa travel to bottom of the group Sao Tome & Principe, so the gap may widen. Sudan began this group with a 4-0 home win over Sao Tome & Principe (who have lost all three of their games) but since then have lost to both South Africa and Ghana without scoring. In fact, since that opening group win, Sudan have one win in eight games and that was away to Eritrea (who have lost their last six home games). Home form is disappointing with just one win in the last nine played. Three of their last four home qualifiers have been lost. Another defeat looms here and that may well nearly put an end to their qualifying hopes.
