Gamweek four in Group F of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers will see Sudan taking on Ghana at the Martyrs of February Stadium on Monday afternoon. The Falcons of Jediane are in second place in the group standings, while the Black Stars are third. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Sudan pulled off an against-the-odds result in Accra last week, where they managed to take a point off this opponent with a goalless draw. That result took them to four points after three games, five behind group leaders Angola. 

Prior to that, the Secretarybirds lost 2-1 to Palancas Negras on matchday two and beat Niger in the opening match of qualifying 1-0 in neighbouring South Sudan. The defeat to Angola is the only one Sudan have lost in their last five in all competitions (W3 D1 L1). 

Notably, owing to stadiums in Sudan failing to meet FIFA regulations, the side will be playing this ‘home’ game in neighbouring Libya. 

Meanwhile, Ghana would have been gutted to have come away from last week’s encounter with only a point, having bossed the match in nearly every statistical category but for the scoreline. 

The Black Stars fired a total of 20 shots at goal without success, six of which were considered big chances. They now trail the group leaders by seven points and their upcoming opponent by two. 

On the road, Ghana’s record has been very poor by their own standards, with only a single victory earned in their last 10 away games in all competitions (W1 D4 L5).
