Stuttgart had a poor season in the Bundesliga last season only escaping relegation by goal difference. They will be hoping for a better start to the Bundesliga this time around and they start off with a home game against RB Leipzig. For Stuttgart, it has been great in preseason and they also started the season with a win in the German Cup. They will be looking to build on six straight wins coming into this game, but defensively, they have work to do. In the last nine matches, they have one clean sheet and both teams have scored in seven of their last eight matches. Five of Stuttgart’s last six matches have produced over 2.5 goals. Their home form towards the end of last season was key in their survival, Stuttgart winning three of the last five and scoring two or more in those wins. They’ve never lost this fixture and going into this game they can only focus on better defending, after conceding 10 goals in just the last two games. Both sides have scored in four of the five matches and twice in the last three matches, Leipzig have scored three goals. Away from home in the league, Leipzig have one clean sheet in five matches, but have scored in all five. In their last four matches against Stuttgart, which they’ve won, Leipzig have registered straight clean sheets, and they will be gunning for the same here.
