The final week of the Norwegian Eliteserien is upon us, and in the combined afternoon kickoff, we will see Stromsgodset taking on Brann on Sunday. The hosts are in eighth place in the league standings, while the visitors are second. All in all, 2023 has been a positive season for Stromsgodset. They are four places above where they finished the last campaign and could move up a spot with a win here, provided Sarpsborg lose their match against league winners Bodo/Glimt. Godset have ended the season well and come into this match with four wins in their last five league matches. Their only loss in that time was against Hamkam before the international break. However, they did bounce back from that result with a convincing 3-1 victory over Rosenborg last weekend. Stromsgodset have won 12, drawn five and lost 12 matches this season. Can they end their league season by claiming a big scalp? 

Meanwhile, Brann have been nothing short of incredible this season. The Bergen-based club secured promotion to the top flight just last season and now need only a single point to secure their place in next season’s Europa Conference League qualifiers. They have pushed the league winners all the way and are just six points behind the champions and one above Tromso in third. Viking still have a chance to sneak in but will need a win by a five-goal margin to displace Brann in the top three. The visitors returned from the international break with an excellent performance to beat Bodo/Glimt 4-2 at home last week. That result took them to three wins in a row and unbeaten in their last ten. They also managed to score two or more goals in seven of their last eight games. Unsurprisingly, Brann are the favourites to end the season with a win.
