Stoke vs Preston North End Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Devesh Jaganath in Championship Predictions
Stoke City and Preston North End will lock horns in the Championship this Saturday. The hosts are in tenth place after the first four league matches, while the visitors are fifth. The Potters have made a mixed start to the league season, currently on six points in the early stages. They lost their last league match 1-0 against Millwall but bounced back well in midweek to overcome Rotherham United 6-1 in the Carabao Cup second round. Of their four league matches this season, Stoke have played two at home and won both. The hosts ended last season down in 16th place with 53 points, ten points behind their opponents in this match. They were also winless in their final seven matches of the campaign, losing five and drawing two. However, with home-ground advantage, bookmakers have them as the favourites to win this match.
Meanwhile, Preston have made a very promising start to the season and come into this fixture following a 2-1 win over Swansea City last weekend. That result was their third win on the bounce and also kept their unbeaten record intact in the league this season. Their only major disappointment this term was their loss on penalties against Salford City in the League Cup. Preston won their last away match against Sheffield Wednesday on matchday two, which brought an end to a four-match winless run on the road. However, they did beat this opponent at this venue 1-0 last season and are unbeaten at the Bet365 Stadium in their last three visits.

Our Stoke vs Preston North End Prediction
With it still being very early in the season, it is hard to confidently back either of these sides to secure the win. While the visitors have made a solid start to the season, their away record is far from impressive. The hosts have been good at home but do tend to concede fairly easily, and we expect a few goals in this match as well. Our Stoke City vs Preston North End prediction: Over 2.5
