Stoke vs Preston North End Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Daniel Ngulu | in Championship Predictions
Stoke City’s charge towards the top six and possible promotion has taken heavy hits in recent matches, and they will be hoping for a better start to 2022 when they host Preston. Ahead of this game, Stoke have 35 points, in eighth place, while Preston have 28 points, in 15th place. Stoke City are four points out of the top six, and they have two games in hand. It hasn’t been great for them lately, winning just once in their last five matches, and failing to score in three of those five games. They are however unbeaten in three straight games against Preston, a run they will be keen to extend here. The story of their last three matches has been of mixed fortunes. After beating promotion contenders QPR, they drew with Middlesbrough, before falling to bottom placed Derby County. They’ll be keen on starting a much more stable run now.
Preston are coming from a win over relegation threatened Barnsley, and they will know this is going to be a tougher game. They have also been on an inconsistent run going to this game, and have particularly been poor defensively. The visitors have two wins in their last six matches, have failed to score in one of their last five matches and have just one clean sheet in the last 10 games. Their away run has also been patchy, the team going to this game with just three wins in the last 10 away games, and in the last five away matches, they have three losses, no clean sheets and failed to score in three.

Our Stoke vs Preston North End Prediction
These two sides aren’t in their best shape at the moment. Stoke City’s hopes of getting into the top six are still alive but dented with the poor run, and Preston are further back. They’ve been inconsistent and none stands out as clear favorites. Their last two meetings ended in draws and going to this one, a draw seems like the most probable outcome.
